Collup notes the amount of time spent on field training will depend on
the experience level of the operators and their skill set.
“If it’s an experienced hand who is just needing a few small critiques, I
can spend as little as a couple of hours with them and move on,” he said. “If
it’s someone who doesn’t have a whole lot of experience, it can be a full day
just with that one operator, followed up with some more time the next day,
just to make sure that things are on the right path.”
Collup says the training he provides isn’t only applicable to one type
of equipment.
“In the past, you usually had to rely on one machine manufacturer for
operator training and not all of them offered it,” he said. “That’s where my
company comes into play. There may be brand X, Y and Z out there, but the
application of the machinery is the same for all of them.”
