and will continue to be, used throughout
the project.
Slated for completion in October 2018,
the North Commuter Parkway will improve
the drive for those who live in the northeast
and work in the Marquis and north indus-trial
area. The City of Saskatoon estimates
that traffic volume will be around 22,000 ve-hicles
per day after the bridge opens. With
a future population of 300,000, that number
will go up to 40,000 per day.
“The overall project ties into the city’s
strategic plan and meet residents’ needs as
we grow to 500,000 people,” says Willems.
“The completion of this project will alle-viate
traffic congestion such that people
can get to and from work easier, improving
their quality of life.”
