Is COVID-19 an   
 Opportunity for Employers? 
 Consider pandemic duties as part of a return  
 to work strategy for injured workers  
 COVID-19 created many challenges for everyone, especially  
 for those trying to run a business when the world changes  
 day by day. While many business owners prepared for natural  
 disasters and workplace incidents, none of us could have predicted a  
 global pandemic. While COVID-19 is continually challenging us in how  
 we do business, it may also present some opportunities that were not previously  
 there. Employers are having to adjust strategies almost daily in the  
 midst of the pandemic; this shifting includes how we bring injured workers  
 back to work. 
 COVID-19 has allowed for many opportunities for return to work for  
 injured workers.  
 I had one employer tell me, “We had no job options for an injured worker  
 prior to COVID-19, and now we need all of the help we can get. I need  
 people to sanitize equipment, monitor social distancing and assist with extra  
 cleaning of our business.” 
 The challenges with COVID-19 have presented employers with new opportunities  
 to engage with injured workers and bring them back to meaningful  
 employment within their restrictions. The possibilities are endless  
 to participate in helping to keep co-workers and all employees safe in this  
 uncertain time. 
 When a worker is injured, be sure to learn their restrictions and see  
 what opportunities your business may have. The safety of employees and
