to prevent back injuries

Your back is a key piece of equipment
you use every day – at
work and at home. It takes a lot
of wear and tear from lifting and moving equipment,
shovelling, even sitting in the cab of your
machine. Take care of your back to make sure
it’s there for you when you need it the most!
How do back
injuries happen?
It is estimated that 85 per cent of workers will
experience back pain in their lifetime. Back injuries
can impact your ability to work and your
ability to do the things you enjoy, like golfing or
playing with your kids.
Back injuries are commonly caused by lifting,
carrying, bending at the waist, pushing
and pulling. They can also be caused by repetitive
motions that cause strain over time, or an
accident like a fall. Back injuries don’t always
show up right away. You may experience warning
signs that something is wrong, like tingling
in your arms or legs, restricted movement or
headaches. One day, you may go to do something
simple like put on your work boots, and
your back “goes out.” It wasn’t putting the
