talk about what harassment is and what it
is not. Take harassment out of the closet,
learn about it, stop it or – better yet – pre-vent
it. Employers have a legal obligation
to make sure workers are not exposed to
harassment; employers need to prevent,
stop and act.
Preventing harassment is about educat-ing
your employees, developing policies
and making a commitment to a safe work-place.
Workplaces have changed over the
past several decades; what was acceptable
to say and do previously is now no longer
tolerated. With education and growth, we
now know certain statements and actions
could be considered harassment. The em-ployer
has a responsibility to educate
people in the organization so they under-stand
what harassment is and is not and
act appropriately. The heavy construction
