Excavating can carry a project from start to finish with a single call
In Regina, most excavating compa-nies
specialize. There are compa-nies
that do sewer work. There are
firms that take on residential development
jobs while others handle industrial or civ-il
projects. And, there are a few that do it
all. Queen City Excavating is one of those
few and they pride themselves on not hav-ing
to say no.
“We have the expertise, the manpow-er
and the equipment to take on a wide
range of projects,” said general manag-er,
Dustin Hassman, pointing to small
development residential sewer and water
projects to shore line restoration to agri-cultural
works like lagoon clean-outs and
large-scale civil site development.
He says that Queen City likes to keep
things close to home. This Saskatchewan
company knows the lay of the land. For cus-tomers,
this means a greater level of trust
because crews are able to turn to their ex-perience
working in local conditions.
“This limits surprises, and surprises
can cost money,” said Hassman, who adds
that they look to a market area of about
100 kilometres around Regina, including
the city.
Company president Mike Shinn says
that their business model is one of slow,
steady growth; in his view, quick jumps
can spell disaster for new companies look-ing
to make a reputation.
“From the start, we planned to build a
company that offered a quality-first ap-proach,
one job at a time. We wanted to
create an excavating company where one
call gets the job done. Now, people have
seen what we are capable of and because
