WCB safety rate code.
Lost Time Incidents work against com-panies
trying to bid for projects with the
government of Saskatchewan. With the
aforementioned spike in injury claims,
and a lack of proper investigation of these
claims, an employer’s reputation is at risk.
“Safety is becoming more a part of the
criteria that is being used to determine who
gets approval to work with government on
these projects,” Lipp said. “Safety is one of
the key things people are looking at now…
contractors need to have that good safety
record and they are being diligent in mak-ing
sure their crews are working safely.”
