“We started out back in 1966 as a company that used new ideas
to improve traffic safety, and we’re still doing the same thing today,”
said Kyle Monette, director of sales for Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
“If there’s something new in the industry, we already know about it
and can use it to solve your traffic and safety challenges.”
ATS focuses on three core areas: traffic control, on-street services
and signage programs.
The company’s traffic control products and services detect a wide
range of traffic types, and are designed for each client’s needs by
safely and efficiently directing people where they need to go. ATS
designs smart on-street or off-street systems to improve traffic flow.
It also focuses on traffic detection, using sensing, counting and mes-saging
systems to detect all kinds of traffic and improve traffic flow.
In addition, ATS designs systems to keep people safe while they’re
moving through intersections, crosswalks, school zones and multi-way
stops.
When it comes to on-street services, ATS combines high-level
traffic engineering with boots-on-the-ground services like lane clo-sures
and route management. It works with groups who are building
a bridge, overpass or section of road to protect drivers from hazards
on and around the road, and also develops systems to manage facil-ity
access and transportation challenges while keeping workers safe
on site and during projects. During special events, ATS can also help
organizers manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Through its signage program, ATS designs, manufactures, in-stalls
and maintains guidance systems to help people get to where
they need to go, with all work backed by 3M’s quality standards. The
company builds highway signs to help passing drivers find business-es,
provincial facilities, visitor information centres and other com-munity
attractions. It also offers a range of audit, placement and
payment options to manage sign inventory, meet Transportation
Association of Canada (TAC) standards and keep the public safe.
As Monette says, the answer to a client’s problem is rarely as sim-ple
as installing a single product, which is why the company has an
extensive consultative process to find the best solution.
“Our consultative process helps us determine what you need and
how to make it happen,” he said. “Not every solution will require ev-ery
step of our process. Each solution will, however, combine cer-tain
elements of our products and services, including traffic devices,
advanced technology and on-street services. Using the latest tech-nology
and engineering, we can plan, manage and maintain your
project from start to finish. We know what issues limit the decision-making
process, and with our help, you can confidently navigate
them to make your project a success.”
