The seasonally adjusted unemployment
rate decreased to 5.5 per cent, down from 6.2
per cent in October and below the national
average of 5.6 per cent.
Other November highlights included:
• Major year-over-year gains were reported
for health care and social assistance, up
5,700 jobs; educational services up 5,100
jobs; agriculture up 5,000 jobs.
• Construction saw year-over-year gains of
1,500 jobs (+3.0 per cent) and a month-over-
month increase of 300 jobs (+0.6 per
cent) seasonally adjusted.
• Female employment is up 6,500 jobs (+2.5
per cent) and male employment is up 9,800
jobs (+3.2 per cent).
• Solid job growth in the private sector with
17,500 more jobs from a year ago (+5.5
per cent).

of Fredericton partner
to support workplace
psychological health
The Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation
Board (WCB) and the University of
Fredericton (UFred) have signed a partner-ship
agreement to increase access to training
and resources for Saskatchewan employers
to create psychologically healthy workplaces.
Over the last three years, the WCB has
seen a 75 per cent increase in the number of

percentage of all workplace injury claims ac-cepted,
the increase in the rate of acceptance
is concerning.

need to provide employers with additional
resources to help them create a psycholog-ically
healthy work environment for em-ployees,”
said Kevin Mooney, director of
prevention at WCB. “The expertise of the
University of Fredericton faculty and the
training courses made available will be in-valuable
to Saskatchewan employers.”
