Power Mobile Equipment Evaluator
This one-day course is designed to aid in giving experienced opera-tors
proof of competency and a documented evaluation.
The Powered Mobile Equipment Operator Evaluator course is de-signed
to assist companies in documenting employee competence
in operating powered mobile equipment by taking one or more of
your companies’ experienced operators and providing information
and guidance for them to become your equipment evaluators. The
course is divided into two areas: theory and practical. Up to one
day would be on theory, where we review the generalized mobile
equipment module, consisting of regulations for powered mobile
equipment and the evaluation process. There are also accompany-ing
modules to the general equipment, i.e., front-end loader, crawl-er
tractor, scraper/buggy, compaction equipment and excavator, all
come with an exam. All of these modules are generalized and not
manufacturer specific, giving a general overview of safe operating
practices and regulations that applies to that equipment.
The second portion of the course is designed to educate students
by giving hands on training on how to evaluate their equipment op-erators.
The practical exam is much the same as the driving test re-quired
to receive an automobile license. Students will be required
to perform an inspection of the equipment they intend to use and
make a lift moving the load in a predetermined path (if applicable).
The evaluator will grade their performance according to a set of
guidelines set in place by the HCSAS.
